ALAMEDA — Marshawn Lynch will become the first Raiders’ offensive player since 1960 to wear No. 24 when he suits up in his familiar digits for the Silver and Black.

Charles Woodson, of course, is the latest Raider to have worn No. 24, doing so during both of his tenures in Oakland. Hall of Fame defensive back Willie Brown also sported the number during his great years with the Raiders.
According to Lynch’s mom, Delisa Lynch, she obtained permission from Woodson some time ago for her son to inherit the number.
“I asked him, before Marshawn even thought about coming back or anything like, he came to one of our events and I took a picture with him and I said, ‘Hey Charles, if Marshawn comes to the Raiders, can he wear that 2-4?’,” Delisa Lynch said Wednesday in an interview on 95.7 The Game. “He said, ‘Yeah, momma.’ So I knew then that he wasn’t going to mind.”
Fans can already pre-order a Lynch jersey on the Raider Image website.
